Shaa Calicut began as a small internet business in Dubai in 2013, as a way for an idle housewife like me to keep busy. When I came up with this idea, my spouse, who owns a business, was really supportive. We ran it as a modest internet business for the first three years, stocking the things in our own apartment. Then my husband recommended that we make this a licensed business. That’s when we opened a shop named Shaa Shoppy in Karama, Dubai.

For the next five years, the shop was successfully run. However, due to the financial crisis caused by Covid-19, as well as my third pregnancy, I was forced to return to India with my children. I wasn’t sure if I could continue my business in India as SHAA CALICUT . My services was well received, much to my surprise. For promotions, I used Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. And as a result of this, I gained a bunch of new customers.

And, with the help of my family and friends, I’m still running a successful business on my own.
